  • Size: Blade is 5" long. Blade is 1 1/4" 
  • Materials: stainless steel blade. Handles are made of many different woods including - leopard wood, cocobola, ebony, maple burls, and mahogany. Some of the colored woods have been infused with epoxy resins while others are natural.
  • Each one is unique.
  • Handles are made by hand in Baltimore, MD

The petty knife should be hand-washed only. Do not put it in the dishwasher or let it sit in water. Dry off after washing.

Marketplace Policy

DELIVERY & SHIPPING
  • Due to the nature of our marketplace and the majority of our products coming from independent sellers and vendors, each delivery window and shipping fee will vary from seller to seller. The "Estimated Delivery" dates on each product page represents the delivery window for that specific product. With this in mind, the below provides an average delivery time across the Apollo Marketplace.
  • Continental U.S. delivery time - 2-5 days
  • Canada delivery time - 7-10 days
  • International delivery time - 7-14 business days
SHIPPING COSTS

Upon finalizing your purchase, the shipping fees are calculated by aggregating the individual rates set by each seller for their products. For instance, if one of your selected items has a shipping fee of $5 from Seller 1, and another item incurs a $6 charge from Seller 2, your combined shipping total at checkout will be $11. However, should your order from any individual seller meet their stipulated free shipping threshold, the shipping fee attributed to that seller's items will be waived, therefore reducing your overall shipping costs at the time of checkout.

RETURNS

Each seller and vendor has a unique policy as it pertains to their business and products. Because of this, each shipping and return policy will be mentioned under the Seller's Policy tab on the product page. Unless specifically stated under the Seller's Policy tab, original shipping costs are not refunded. Group 1: Made in the USA: All or virtually all aspects of a product were made in America, from its components and ingredients, all the way to its manufacturing and assembly.

  • Canada delivery time: Does not ship to Canada/Mexico

Damages/issues: When your order arrives, it's important to check it thoroughly. If you notice any defects, damages, or receive the wrong item, we urge you to use Apollo's Return Portal or contact us at support@apollolanding.com. We will investigate the issue promptly and take the necessary steps to ensure your satisfaction.

Returns: We are confident you will be happy with your Words with Boards® purchase. If you are not 100% satisfied, please email support@apollolanding.com within 7 days from the date of receipt. The item(s) purchased will need to be in its original condition with packing slip. We accept returns for products that are damaged or have been shipped incorrectly. Should you encounter either of these issues, please use the Return Portal to start the approval process. Upon verification, we will promptly ship a replacement for the damaged or incorrect item at no additional cost to you. For your convenience, there is no need to return the original item; you may safely dispose of it once you've received approval from our team. Please note that all Personalized Cutting Boards and other Personalized items are FINAL SALE.

Exchanges: If you are not 100% satisfied, please email support@apollolanding.com within 7 days from the date of receipt. The item(s) purchased will need to be in its original condition with packing slip. We will gladly exchange your purchase or refund your original form of payment.

Return costs: There are no return costs for damaged or incorrectly shipped product as any damaged or incorrectly shipped items should be discarded. If the item being returned is due to no fault of Words with Boards® the return postage is the responsibility of the sender and should be shipped through a traceable method such as UPS, FedEx or Insured Parcel Post. Please be sure to keep the return Tracking Number until you receive your exchange or refund. We cannot be responsible for lost or damaged packages.

Handling fee: We currently do not charge a handling fee

Refunds: You’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 2-5 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

About the Seller

We are Kim and Mike, a Baltimore based couple with backgrounds in product development and design. We handcrafted our first cutting boards from leftover butcher block and gave them as gifts for family. 

“Words” traveled fast, as did their popularity and in 2015 our cutting boards were named a Martha Stewart AMERICAN MADE Design finalist. Later that year they landed on Oprah Winfrey's iconic Favorite Things List.  

What started as one cutting board has now blossomed into a full line of wooden homegoods which we are proud to say are all American Made.

One Tree Planted

Words with Boards is committed to doing what we can for the environment including reforestation. Since day one the American hardwoods used to make our cutting boards and other wooden products have come from recycled or sustainable sources. In 2018 we started planted a tree for every wooden product sold through our website. We have partnered with One Tree Planted a 501C3 nonprofit to make this happen. With your help, we can plant a forest!

American Made

The materials we use from the wood to the hardware for the lazy susans are made in America. Each letter is hand cut with a scroll saw then sanded in a multi step process. See our video below for more on how they are made.

We will always be known for our custom cutting boards and that's just fine with us. But with our backgrounds in product development and design, we can't stop with custom cutting boards. We will always be adding new products designed and made by us and other artisans to keep you coming back!
