The inspiration behind the founding of Laguna Herbals began with sunscreen.  When Andrea’s daughter was just a toddler, it was difficult to find a sunscreen that didn’t turn her skin beet red and cause itchy rashes.  When her daughter turned 6 months old, Andrea was so excited to use sunscreen and chose a commercial brand in a kid friendly pink bottle reading “safe for babies over 6 months” “#1 pediatrician recommended brand”.  Andrea fully trusted the marketing.  After applying on her daughter and spending a day at the beach, Andrea was concerned that evening when her daughter’s skin looked like it had a bad sunburn and an itchy skin rash on her arms and legs only to realize that it was a reaction she had to the sunscreen itself.  Andrea soon learned that in this “number one pediatrician recommended sunscreen” there were several not very kid friendly chemical ingredients.  We believe there is no need to use sunscreen with harmful chemicals, so we developed our all natural safe and effective mineral based sunscreen and started Laguna Herbals to continue our mission of developing alternative safe and effective products.
